Relationship Reflection
The importance of relationships and
partnerships determines a person’s well-being.
Many studies have shown that
without the stimulation of human relationships a person could perish and it
doesn’t matter the age of the person.
I have relocated a few times and have
moved in States and areas that I have no family members or friends around. I am
presently in this situation and it is very difficult. I have relocated to
Loganville Georgia this past fall. I have been here three months and it is such
a disturbing situation that I am returning to Texas with my eleven year old son:
where we have lived for the past seven years after relocating there from
Michigan. We created strong and healthy relationships in Texas and it has
proven to be better to return to our place of stability. Relationships and
partnerships are crucial for human health, survival, and their well-being.
In Texas I have positive
relationships with my church home where I teach children’s church. My pastor
and his family, the members in church are all important relationships as we
always enjoy Sunday service, Church picnics, and holiday gatherings. Several
families in my neighborhood and people in the surrounding areas because there’s
a friendly hello each day and visits to each other’s homes where we share meals
and talks over cups of tea and deserts. Also, each of the students and staff at
the schools that I worked at as a substitute teacher are all very important
relationships for me. I enjoyed helping the students learn; in addition, to the
laughing and speaking of encouraging words with teachers and sharing holiday
goodies and luncheons given to the teachers as an appreciation. The most
important relationships of all is with my husband and our three sons sharing
meals, laughter, and outings.
Some challenges in maintaining
these relationships are the everyday life schedule. It is very important to
create a balance in order to nurture and maintain the relationships.
The special characteristics of
husbands and wives make them partners in creating life together. The special
characteristics of neighbors is that we all look out for the well-being of the
children in our neighborhood just as the special characteristics of teachers
are for the well-being of the students with-in the entire school and not just
in our individual classrooms.
My relationship experiences with
the people mentioned only aids my ability to be an effective early childhood
professional, because the baseline of these relationships and partnerships are
tending to the care and welfare of the children in our care. As an early
childhood professional, tending to the well-being of children is the
highlighted focus.
Hello Darlene,
ReplyDeleteIt is so great that you have such positive relationships in your life. Moving around is challenging. My brothers and sisters are moving to Austin, Texas in the next couple weeks from Atlanta, GA. Of course, we have one another, and my boyfriend is with us, but we all have to start over with creating new and other meaningful relationships with others. Life is always challenging when trying to maintain the healthy relationships. I try to communicate as much as possible to create and maintain healthy partnerships and relationships. I hope that all is well with you return to Texas:-)
